Varistor Overview To assure reliable operation, transient voltage suppression should be considered at early stages of the design process. This can be a complex task as electronic components are increasingly sensitive to stray electrical transients. The designer must define the types of transient threats and determine what applications are needed while meeting the product agency norms and standards. Varistors are increasingly used as the front-line solution for transient surge protection.

The rubric is somewhat aspirational, reflecting the grander real estate dreams that arose from the encounter between Progressive Era reformism, boosterism and Jersey City reality. Largely consisting of a landfilled portion of the southern shore of what had been Harsimus Cove Illustration 1 , the district assumed its characteristic form during the first two decades of the 20th century: ranges of stolid, functional common red brick and reinforced concrete buildings occupying, singly or in groups, six full city blocks and portions of six more. The fabric of the district was largely dictated by pragmatic calculation. Fear of fire, coupled with the quest for lower insurance premiums, pushed owners towards a panoply of fire suppression strategies.

These low-melting alloys are required for a wide variety of applications, including:. Step soldering is the process of attaching components to a substrate in a series of steps where each step in the soldering process uses a lower reflow temperature than the step before it. Standard components are attached first and then temperature sensitive components like LEDs are done last. Molded interconnect device MID plastics have been around for many years, but are becoming more popular in product design. MID plastics, which are formed into 3D shapes to increase the functionality and reduce overall weight of each product, are important in automotive and medical applications. Fusible alloys are valued for their relatively low-temperature melting point precision, as well as for their physical properties at room temperature.
