OLVEA continues to develop while strengthening its commitment to sustainable development. In order to be more reactive and flexible in response to the ever-changing needs of the market, OLVEA has chosen to develop its own eco-refining plant directly on its site in Normandy. Thanks to its supply chains in Africa of Argan and Shea in particular and to its own green refinery, OLVEA is now able to offer its customers biosourced and eco-refined vegetable oils with a complete traceability.
These oils, prized by cosmetic, pharmaceutical and food laboratories, are used in the composition of many formulations. Equipped with two refining lines with a daily capacity of tonnes, OLVEA Green Technologies is one of the first green and eco-designed refineries in Europe. The equipment and the process of this plant make it possible to purify the oils while guaranteeing the absence of cross-contamination. The tank farm and the eco-refinery meet the Food Defense requirements.
The building of an old factory has been completely rehabilitated; the demolition materials were recycled and revalorized.
The rest of the energy supply of the plant is purchased from green sources of gas and electricity. OLVEA has also launched scientific partnerships with local universities, and has created a research and development laboratory. The green plant is equipped with numerous heat exchangers to recover and interchange heat energy at different stages of the process.
OLVEA has also installed 3 rainwater storage tanks , with a storage capacity of 1 million liters, to recover up to 12 million liters per year. OLVEA offers more than 70 oils and specialty ingredients. Skip to content. Home Presentation Who are we? Discover our eco-refining plant in France. A new industrial dimension. An eco-refinery. Oils of plant origin have been predominantly used for food-based applications. Plant oils not only represent a non-polluting renewable resource but also provide a wide diversity in fatty acids FAs composition with diverse applications. Besides being edible, they are now increasingly being used in industrial applications such as paints, lubricants, soaps, biofuels etc. In addition, plants can be engineered to produce fatty acids which are nutritionally beneficial to human health. The biochemical pathways producing storage oils in plants have been extensively characterized, but the factors regulating fatty acid synthesis and controlling total oil content in oilseed crops are still poorly understood.

The future belongs to renewable primary products. The share of plant oils in energy supply is increasing continuously. The right technology for the preparation of the oilseeds, the handling of the oil cake as well as the transport and storage of the vegetable oil are important elements for successful processing.
Oil storage regulations for businesses
Vegetable oils are an important source of vitamin E and polyunsaturated essential fatty acids that contribute to a varied and balanced diet.
